Scope of the Works
Urban tunnelling works for a safety gallery of the Milchbuck highway tunnel in Zurich, 1‘380 m and underground water retention basin.
Activities
- Excavation in unconsolidated rock with jetting and pipe umbrella construction system (380 m)
- TBM excavation Ø = 4.15 m (1’000 m)
- Waterproofing, shotcrete concrete lining
- Water retention basin
Geology
Soft ground excavation:
Mainly moraine and locally upper freshwater molasses
TBM excavation:
Horizontal layer of upper freshwater molasses composed of sandstone, silt and clay material
