Scope of the Works
The Project 3rd tube Gubristtunnel (Lot 201) is part of the expansion of the Northbypass Zurich (ANU) and includes following main elements:
- Tunnel excavation by drill and blast: 3 km
- Outside works Affoltern: 77 m
- Outside works Weinigen: 223 m
Activities
Tunnel (Roadheader):
- Top heading with post bench- and invert excavation
- Cross section: approx. 180 m²
- Excavation diameter: 15.44 m / 14.45 m
- Blasted volume: approx. 500’000 m³
- Counter excavation from the Weinigen Portal by using pipe umbrellas (approx. 100 m)
- Cross connections: 12 pcs
- Operation station Sunnenrain
- Service-supply channel underneath roadway
- Suspended ceiling
Open Cast:
- Cut and cover section
- Securing with anchors and nailed walls
- Earthworks: Approx. 150’000 m³
- Drilled piles: 2’800 m
- Diaphragm wall: 3’700 m²
- Operation and ventilation control: 2 pcs.
Transfer rail station
- Planning, construction and exploitation of a excavation loading terminal nearby the construction site – evacuation of the excavated material by train (1.3 Mio. to)
Geology
Mostly Upper Süsswassermolasse (interbedded layers of sandstone, silt and marl)
