Scope of the Works
The K01 E6 Indre Nordnes-Skardalen road project is being built as rockfall and avalanches protection project and will shorten the E6 by eight kilometers. The new road with a 5.8 km long double lane tunnel, lies between Monsastubergan and Manndalen in the Kåfjord municipality in Troms, Norway.
The main parts of the project consist of:
- 5’810 m long (T 9.5, 71 m²) double lane road tunnel, technical room caverns and tunnel widenings
- 6’590 m of road
- 100 m long bridge
Work description
Underground excavation, rock support and grouting work
- Excavation method: drill & blast
- Excavated length and volume: 5’970 m, 470’000 m³
- Standard rock support: shotcrete (10’000 m³) and systematic rock bolts (25’000 pcs)
- Additional rock support: spiling bolts and reinforced shotcrete arches
Water and frost protection work
- PE-foam & shotcrete lining: 70’000 m²
Surface- and groundwork
- Pre-cut excavation
- Roadwork: 6’590 m
- Fresh water and drainage system
- Installation of cable pipes
Concrete work
- 6 technical buildings
- Portals cut & cover: 50 m and 15 m
- One 100 m long bridge (prestressed, 450 t rein- forcement, 2’000 m³ concrete)
Sea work
- Dredging (49’000 m³)
- Dumping of excavated material (420’000 m³)
