Our team at the Skullerud construction site in Oslo, Norway, carried out the first blasting at the portal in May. Preparatory work and planning are currently underway for the excavation work, which will start in mid-July 2019.
The new water tunnel will be built to complement the existing water supply network in the nearby capital Oslo (~634,000 inhabitants). In addition to the construction work, Marti will also carry out the implementation planning.
The tunnel construction specialists on site have state-of-the-art equipment at their disposal. The new tunnel excavator was shipped to Oslo directly from the largest construction machinery trade fair in Munich.
The construction site is located in the southeast of Oslo, approximately 8 km from the city centre. The heart of the work is the construction of the 3,318 m long tunnel, in which a fresh water pipe with a diameter of 1 m will be drawn from Skullerud to Enebakkveien. The CHF 35 million project will run from April 2019 to December 2021. A total of approximately 100,000 cubic meters of material will be removed.
The lining work of the tunnel is carried out by an ITC312SL tunnel excavator.
The tunnel excavator was exhibited in April 2019 at Bauma, the largest trade fair for construction machinery in Munich, and then delivered directly to the construction site in Skullerud. The new device enables the team to carry out very efficient shuttering work.
The blasted rock (the heap) is loaded directly onto a vehicle (truck / dumper) by the slat conveyor integrated in the excavator.
